Internal tussle erupts in  Telangana Olympic Association

Must read

A controversy has erupted within the Telangana Olympic Association (TOA) after senior office bearers alleged that their names were fraudulently removed from the official portal for the 38th National Games 2024. The association has filed a formal complaint with the Saifabad Police Station against three individuals—C. Babu Rao, Shivshankar Agnigotri, and Venkatesh (Computer Operator)—accusing them of tampering with official records and unlawfully replacing the legitimate office bearers’ names with their own.
According to the complaint, the TOA President, AP Jithender Reddy, general secretary, P Malla Reddy, and Treasurer, D Satish Goud were officially invited to the National Games by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and Uttarakhand’s National Games Secretariat. Their names were accordingly registered in the event’s online portal.
However, upon arrival at the venue, they were shocked to find that their names had been deleted and replaced with unauthorised individuals, causing serious embarrassment and disruption in coordinating Telangana’s athlete participation.
The association further alleged that certain State Sports Authority officials might have facilitated the fraudulent changes, raising concerns over deeper involvement.
The complaint describes the incident as a case of forgery, cheating, and breach of trust, urging immediate action under the law.
TOA general secretary P Malla Reddy has urged the Hyderabad Police Commissioner, Central Zone DCP, and Saifabad ACP to: Register an FIR against the accused individuals. Conduct a detailed investigation into the tampering of records. Ensure legal action to prevent such incidents in the future.
The complaint has also been escalated to key figures in Indian sports, including IOA President and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. PT Usha, Uttarakhand National Games CEO Amit Kumar Sinha, IPS, and Sports Authority of Telangana VC & MD Soni Bala Devi, IFS.
