Must read

The Telangana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has observed the International Child Rights Day on Monday with a pledge in all the government and private educational and child care institutions committing towards fulfilling the rights of the children without any discrimination based on caste, class, creed, religion, gender and disability. The theme for this year during this occasion is “For every child, every right”.
The key intent of the pledge was to sensitise the children and the stakeholders on the significance of the rights and to build responsibility among them.
The Secretary of School Education, the District Collectors and the District Educational Officers have played a vital role by ensuring the government and private educational institutions, child care institutions to observe the International Child Rights Day with a pledge during the school assembly/prayer time across the state.
The Government of India has acceded to the United Nations Convention for the Rights of Child (UNCRC) on December 11, 1992. Whereas, on November 20, 1989, the Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted by the UN General Assembly and was widely acclaimed as a landmark achievement for human rights, recognising the roles of children as social, economic, political, civil and cultural actors.
The convention guarantees and sets minimum standards for protecting the rights of children in all capacities.
