The police busted an interstate motorcycle lifting gang by arresting three bike lifters and recovered stolen motorcycles. Informing this to the media here on Thursday, Superin tendent of Police K Prathap Shiva Kishore said that many motorcycle theft cases were registered in the district and a strong vigil had been laid in all police station limits.
Under the directions of Additional SP (Admn) N Suryachandra a Rao, special teams led by Nuzvid DSP KVVNV Prasad were formed to nab the motorcycle lifters.
A police team conducted a checking of vehicles at Rajiv Circle on Thursday. The three arrested accused, on noticing the police checking, tried to flee from the place. The police saw them and apprehended them. During the questioning, they confessed to stealing motorcycles. On the information provided by them, the police recovered 19 motorcycles from them. The 19 motorcycles worth about Rs 9 lakh, the SP stated. The police gave the names of arrested bike lifters as Battula Pawan Kalyan, Bhimireddy Sitarami Reddy and Dhaniakonda Ramesh.
The trio became addicted to vices and to fund the vices they started lifting motorcycles and selling them in Telangana state with fake documents.
