For this week’s Hyderabond, we have with us the founder of one of the booming plat schools, Bachpan Play School, who shares with us his bond with the city, Hyderabad’s unmatched commitment to developing young brains, among others.

Ajay Gupta, founder and CEO of Bachpan Play School, whose footprint is spread across the whole country, grew up in Delhi, but his interest in franchise-based learning methods is primarily what has led to his affiliation with Hyderabad. The novel models he had in mind for the pupils were especially well-received in Hyderabad, which strengthened the connection between Hyderabad and his adventurous spirit. They currently operate over 100 schools in Hyderabad.
He added to this weekly special column dedicated to the love of Hyderabad city: “This city has been incredibly welcoming and supportive. The expansion of Bachpan and the AHPS group of schools welcome me with open arms each time I visit. Hyderabad’s rich cultural heritage and the community’s cooperation spirit in regards to educational projects are very inspirational and gratifying.”
Having an 80% locomotor disability, he worked to promote diversity and accessibility in his schools as well as across the nation. Sometimes, he found himself opening his eyes to some of the similar initiatives that his franchisees in Hyderabad have made. “Hyderabad has an energy that is unmatched by anything else. All of our schools — especially the Hyderabad ones — have inclusive surroundings. But the city has also exposed me to so much more. I must admit that being an entrepreneur has forced me to visit most of the nation. By periodically visiting these branches, I have been able to learn about the remarkable diversity that India is renowned for on a worldwide scale. Having said that, I believe Hyderabad is unique because of its amazing fusion of modern ideas and history. Our primary goal has thus been to utilise technology in the educational system for the benefit of our younger generations,” explained the founder.
In the preschool setting, he found Hyderabad’s unmatched commitment to developing young brains to be particularly noteworthy. Not surprisingly, they have more school branches in this lovely, forward-thinking city than in any other. “I was so impressed with how the school was working on our vision of creating an inclusive society that I was overwhelmed like no other day,” the speaker said after visiting one of his school branches in Mallampet. It is among his favourite recollections because, together with Bachpan’s founding in 2004, it helped him feel more connected to the ideas he set out to achieve two decades ago. Nothing about the city particularly bothers him; instead, he applauds the progress the city has been making to address the sporadic variations in air quality, traffic jams, and a lack of green areas. In one way or another, these initiatives and developments will help the education industry.
He concluded, “My sole life goal is to improve the world, and being an edupreneur tremendously aids in that endeavor. I like Hyderabad’s willingness to embrace any cutting-edge learning model that aligns with our mission. It is genuinely a beautiful experience, and this city is simply so accommodating in so many ways.”
