Congress Party Working Committee (CWC) Special Invitee, and Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee former president Gidugu Rudra Raju has alleged that the BJP-led Union government has left the people of Andhra Pradesh disappointed. On Thursday, he spoke to the media in New Delhi and faulted budget proposals submitted by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman for the year 2024-25 in Parliament.
He commented the budget is purely a pro-corporate budget and the Central government reduced the tax for their benefit. People of the state eagerly waited for the positive announcement of sanctioning Special Category Status, State Bifurcation assurance, and Special Package for the backward districts in the Rayalaseema and Uttarandhra, Polavaram Project, and Visakha Railway Zone the Union government, he said. However, none of these are taking place in the minister’s budget speech, he added. Further, he stated that the Congress party AP leadership would meet AICC president Mallikharjuna Kharge and other opposition party leaders under the leadership of APCC chief Sharmila Reddy on Friday.
His party would fight against the BJP-led Union government along with like-minded political parties for the Special Category Status, State Bifurcation Assurances and other issues, he explained.
