Highlighting that IT towers in nine different Tier 2 locations will be rent-free for employees for two years, Special Chief Secretary to the IT Department, Jayesh Ranjan also announced that new towers are coming up in Medchal and South Malakpet.
He delivered the keynote address at the Move In Sync GCC Conclave 2025 at Sheraton Hyderabad on Wednesday evening. Addressing Global Capability Centre leaders, Jayesh stated that the GCC Policy will offer incentives to Tier 2 GCC companies with a solid strategy. He emphasised the need for decentralisation, with Cyberabad as the hub due to its infrastructure and educational institutions. He noted that high real estate costs make it difficult for most employees to afford housing.
Jayesh emphasised sustainable mobility, stating that the shift to electric vehicles is underway. He noted that 90% of the charging infrastructure has been sorted out. He encouraged companies to set up charging stations and highlighted the renewable energy policy, which offers exclusive EV charging stations at discounted rates. He also mentioned plans to expand infrastructure beyond Cyberabad as needed. Referring to Budget 2025’s national policy to promote GCC growth in Tier 2 towns, Jayesh highlighted Hyderabad’s impressive rise in companies and jobs. He noted that GCCs are a key driver of this growth and stressed the need to reduce commute time for a better quality of life. He cited Mumbai’s train commuters, where women chop vegetables during travel, as an example of creativity in transit. He also mentioned Cyberabad’s Security Council, which has implemented several commute-related initiatives.
Citing the World Economic Forum, Jayesh announced Telangana’s ‘Rising 2050’ vision, with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy committed to achieving net zero through a renewable energy policy. He also noted that all government buildings will have rooftop solar power soon, and net zero efforts will include water conservation and planting of saplings, with land provided for plantations.
He also informed about the skilling programme through TASK, offering government-funded training to build a skilled workforce for GCCs. He noted that TASK ensures freshers are job-ready from day one. Concluding, Jayesh expressed hope for 10 GCC consortiums soon, with two already in place.
