Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) Project Officer Satyanarayana visited some of the Godavari river flood- affected areas in Kukkunur mandal on Sunday.
He visited the flood-affected villages and reviewed the situation with the officials. He examined the functioning of drinking water bore wells. He inquired about the setting up of health camps in the flood affected area.
He assured of extending all help to the villagers of Dacharam village which was inundated in the flood water. He said that all steps were being taken to prevent the outbreak of contagious diseases. Medical camps are being run in the flood affected areas to provide medical services. The anti-venom injections and medicines are also kept ready to treat snake bite victims, he stated.
Later, the ITDA PO inspected the flood relief camp set up at R&R colony and examined the supply of drinking water. He interacted with the flood victims in the relief camps and knew their problems. He told them that a 108 ambulance was allocated to take them to hospital in case of emergency.
Medicines required to treat dengue, malaria, and typhoid fevers were also provided to the medical camp. The pregnant women were shifted to safer places from the flood affected areas, he said. Revenue and Panchaya Raj officials were among those who accompanied him.
