ITEC programme for journalists from five countries concludes

The two-week Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Training Program for 26 journalists and media professionals from Guyana, Tanzania, Suriname, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, concluded with a valedictory ceremony on Saturday. It was sponsored by the ITEC Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and conducted by Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana.
 Shashank Goel, Director General of the Institute and E.O. Special Chief Secretary to the Government of Telangana, emphasised that media professionals are the voice of the voiceless and the bridge between governments and people.
He highlighted the role of artificial intelligence in revolutionizing media through streamlined news production, data-driven reporting, and faster content generation. He noted that Social media has transformed news dissemination and audience engagement.
Goel urged journalists to embrace technology while following the ethical standards to maintain journalism’s core values of truth, fairness, and impartiality. He stressed the need for continuous learning to stay relevant in the evolving media landscape.
Meanwhile, Madhavi Ravulapati, Course Director, appreciated the programme’s blend of classroom sessions and visits to media houses and cultural sites.
She expressed confidence that the knowledge gained would help participants make a positive impact in their countries and strengthen bilateral relations with India.
