SV Ramayya Memorial International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Master Tour Tennis tournament began at the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) Tennis Complex on the premises of Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) Stadium in Vijayawada on Monday. NTR Vijayawada Police Commissioner Kanti Rana Tata inaugurated the five-day ITF World Masters Tour at the SAAP Tennis Complex.
Masters Tennis International player Dr. Sudagani Ramakrishna is organising the ITF World Masters Tour with the cooperation of the Andhra Pradesh Lawn Tennis Association (APLTA) in memory of his father SV Ramayya. Around 80 Masters Tennis players from across the country are participating in this tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, Police Commissioner Kanti Rana appreciated Masters Tennis players for organising the tournament in Vijayawada. Budding Tennis players should take the Masters players as inspiration and excel in their talent in national and international tournaments, he added.
Later, Police Commissioner Kanti Rana felicitated the Krishna District Lawn Tennis Association secretary and Masters player K Radha Krishna Murthy who was Indian no.2 in the 70+ category.
APLTA vice president Dr Kamineni Pattabi Ramaiah, tournament sponsor Dr S Ramakrsishna, tournament director Barun Lala, Chief Referee Pravin Kumar Naik and others were present on this occasion.
