JAC seeks ‘Minimum Time Scale’

Bopparaju Venkateswarlu, chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Joint Action Committee – Amaravati (APJAC-Amaravati), has urged the State government to implement a Minimum Time Scale (MTS) for the outsourced employees through the minimum service cut-off. He requested the outsourced employees not to believe the middleman.
The first meeting of the Andhra Pradesh Contract and Outsourcing Employees Association State committee and the emergence of the State committee was held at the Gymkhana grounds at Gandhinagar in Vijayawada on Sunday. A large number of employees from across the State attended the meeting. Later, a new State committee was elected unanimously.
Addressing the gathering, Bopparaju Venkateswarlu said that the State government should implement the HR policy for the contract and outsourced employees who had worked for the past several years along the lines of MEPMA and SERP. Also, implement welfare schemes such as Amma Vodi, Vidya Kanuka, Vidya Vasathi, and house sites for all these employees’ families, he asked.
He thanked the State government for regularizing the contract and outsourced employees who had been working for the past 25 years in various government departments. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has constituted the APCOS for the protection of contract employees from private agencies, he said.
Andhra Pradesh Planning Commission Vice Chairman and Vijayawada Central MLA Malladi Vishnu said that the YSRCP government was trying to resolve the problems relating to all sectors. He promised that he would take the resolutions of the meeting to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Also, employees’ problems would be discussed by the cabinet sub-committee, he assured.
APJAC –Amaravati general secretary P Damodara Rao, Women’s Wing chairperson P Lakshmi, general secretary Vijaya Lakshmi, AP Contract and Outsourcing Employees Association president K Suman, general secretary A Suresh Babu and others were present.
