Continuing her attack against Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, APCC president YS Sharmila has alleged that the YSRCP chief is not following the ideology of late YS Rajasekhar Reddy.
Addressing a gathering at Mulagapudi village on Saturday, she made it clear that she did not have hatred against Jaganas they have the same blood. The problem is that he is not working for the ideology of YSR. Jagan Reddy’s ideology is different from YSR’s, she lashed out.
Defending the Congress party for registering an FIR against YSR after his death, Sharmila argued that the Congress did not do it intentionally and the name of YSR figured in the FIR inadvertently, adding that Sonia Gandhi told her the same.
“The Gandhi family has affection for the YSR family. Sonia Gandhi respects YSR. Since I have believed this, I have joined the Congress. The Congress did not deceive AP,” she remarked.
Recalling the determination of the late YSR, Sharmila stated that the late Chief Minister launched the ‘Jalayagnam’ programme focusing on completing irrigation projects. As many as 54 irrigation projects were constructed during the YSR tenure under the Jalayagnam programme, she claimed.
The present Chief Minister Jagan Reddy assured in his manifesto of completing pending projects but even a single irrigation had not been completed, she flayed.
The farmers are left in the lurch as they are not getting MSP for their produce. The government is grabbing the lands of farmers in the name of various projects, she charged. The unemployed youths are becoming labourers since they are not getting jobs, she lamented. The APCC president also found fault with the YSRCP government for taking the assignment of selling liquor. Adulterated liquor is sold in the name of various brands, she lashed out.
“If the SCS had been granted to the state, many industries would have been established creating huge employment,” she hoped.
Instead of waging a war against the Centre to get the SCS granted, the ruling party leaders had prostrated before the BJP leadership, she lambasted. Despite the YSRCP having 31 MPs, they had never exerted pressure on the Centre demanding to fulfill the pending issues, she pointed out. She reiterated the Congress party, if voted to power, would accord the SCS and construct a Capital City.
Later YS Sharmila went to the house of Dr.Rajasekhar in Narsipatnam and mingled with his family members. Dr.Rajasekhar recalled his association with YSR with Sharmila on the occasion. Later the APCC president announced Vantala Subba Rao as the Congress candidate for the Paderu Assembly constituency.
