Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has criticised YSRCP president and former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for making baseless allegations against the State government. Speaking to media persons on Sunday at Mangalagiri, the Minister stated that in the past two months, only four politically motivated murders have occurred in the State, three of which involved TDP activists.
The Home Minister questioned why action should not be taken against YS Jagan for his false claims that 36 politically motivated murders have taken place. She noted that during YSRCP’s tenure, CID officials arrested individuals who posted comments on social media about actual incidents.
She argued that Jagan, who is making baseless accusations against the government, should face similar consequences.
YS Jagan’s recent statement about staging a dharna in New Delhi to seek Central rule in the state was also criticized by Anitha. She pointed out that despite the people rejecting the YSRCP, the party leaders continue to spread lies. The minister demanded that YS Jagan provide evidence for his claims of 36 politically motivated murders, 300 attempted murders, 30 suicides, over 560 incidents of property destruction, and 1,000 physical attacks. She warned that severe action would be taken if these details were not provided.
Anitha suggested that YS Jagan is attempting to avoid attending the Assembly sessions by staging a dharna in New Delhi. She emphasized that the atrocities and looting committed by YS Jagan have been exposed through white papers released by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
The Home Minister also highlighted that under the current government, policemen and officials are being respected and necessary funds are being released for regular activities. She criticized YS Jagan’s administration for not releasing funds to set up CC cameras and a forensic lab during his tenure.
