Vows to restore peopleโs governance

YSR Congress Party president and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has paid heartfelt tributes to the victims of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. Before beginning his meeting with YSRCPโs local body representatives, he observed a two-minute silence along with party leaders in memory of those who lost their lives in the tragic incident.
While addressing the representatives from Proddatur in YSR district, Venkatagiri Municipality in Tirupati district, Kambadur in Anantapur district, and Tirupati Rural, YS Jagan praised the courage shown by YSRCPโs grassroots leaders. He said their commitment during recent by-elections and no-confidence motions was a testament to the strength of the party. โYouโve shown the people what courage truly looks like,โ he said, saluting the partyโs women and youth leaders.
Criticising the current TDP-led coalition government, Jagan said Andhra Pradesh was being pushed into a war-like atmosphere under a Red Book regime that thrives on oppression, fear, and suppression of democracy. He warned the government that people will not remain silent if manifesto promises are not fulfilled. โOnly YSRCP has the spine to demand accountability,โ he said.
Jagan pointed out that the TDP lacked real strength but still contested by-elections out of greed for power. He cited examples of the partyโs failed attempts to influence elections in areas like Kambadur, Proddatur, and Chandragiri. Even when faced with intimidation and violence, YSRCP leaders stood firm. In many cases, the TDP couldnโt even field candidates or resorted to underhanded tactics like delaying elections by citing health emergencies of officials.
Highlighting the dismal state of governance, Jagan stated that the coalition is completely dismantling systems across agriculture, education, and healthcare. โFour lakh pensions have been cut. Belt shops are mushrooming next to temples and schools. Liquor is being sold at inflated prices with no revenue benefit to the State,โ he said.
He alleged that land in Visakhapatnam worth thousands of crores was handed over to anonymous companies for prices as low as 99 paise per acre. โNot even an idli can be bought for that amount. Yet, public assets are being looted,โ he remarked. On Amaravati construction, he alleged gross corruption, noting that tenders once valued at Rs 36,000 crore under his government were now revalued at Rs 78,000 crore despite lower material costs.
YS Jagan assured party workers that the YSRCP will return to power with a massive majority. He promised full support and recognition in the upcoming Jagan 2.0 government. โThis time, I will stand firmly with every single worker. You wonโt be alone,โ he declared, urging them to stay strong until the peopleโs verdict is restored.
