In a clear demonstration of its commitment to the adage “Justice must not only be done but also must be seen to be done,” the YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that all government services and the benefits of the welfare schemes are delivered to all eligible people. Embracing this philosophy, the government has launched a remarkable month-long programme called ‘Jagananna Suraksha Chakra’ to address citizens’ pending requests related to government services and welfare schemes. This campaign aims to establish a robust safety net for all citizens by engaging every household.

With its launch on July 1, the programme has gained momentum and is expected to reach lakhs of families, providing immediate solutions to their long-pending issues. Already, over 5.5 lakh households have been reached through the dedicated efforts of 407 active camps spread across 209 mandals and 99 Assembly constituencies. At the heart of this initiative are the Ward/Village Secretariats, where citizens can receive assistance in resolving their grievances. Senior officials, including the District Collector, Joint Collector, and Municipal Commissioner, are conducting surprise inspections to ensure the timely resolution of citizen concerns.

Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy has expressed the government’s commitment to the last-mile delivery of services, stating, “Our government wants to ensure that no citizen is left behind in receiving quality and speedy redressal of government services. By launching over 500 services at the Ward/Village secretariat level, we aim to resolve citizens’ issues at their doorsteps, sparing them the hassle of running around government offices.”

To achieve this ambitious goal, the program relies on the involvement of more than 2.6 lakh Village/Ward Volunteers and 1.5 lakh Secretariat staff members. These dedicated individuals are conducting an extensive door-to-door survey across 1.6 crore households to identify and address any issues citizens may face regarding schemes or essential certificates and documents.

Over a span of 30 days, more than 15,000 ‘Jagananna Suraksha’ camps will be organized, with the active participation of senior mandal-level government officers. These camps aim to provide on-the-spot, hassle-free resolutions to public grievances related to documents and certificates. Furthermore, all requested documents will be provided free of charge.

During the ‘Jagananna Suraksha’ camps, citizens are required to present their token numbers, which are provided at the Sachivalayam, at the registration desk. This enables them to meet officials and have their issues resolved or receive their certificates on the spot. The government has implemented a streamlined process to ensure efficient and timely resolution of citizen concerns, with any pending requests addressed within seven days.

The strategic timing of the ‘Jagananna Suraksha Chakra’ aligns with the college admissions season, allowing students to obtain updated documents for admissions, access hostel facilities, scholarships, and other benefits. Additionally, the beneficiaries’ lists of various welfare schemes will be revised in the coming months, making it advisable for citizens to promptly apply for schemes and documents through this program.

‘Jagananna Suraksha’ has far-reaching objectives, aiming to secure the rights of women, children, farmers, elders, uplift marginalized individuals, and promote entrepreneurship. It stands as a testament to the government’s unwavering dedication to inclusivity and social welfare.
