Jagan’s tenure marked by lawlessness: CBN

President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Chandrababu Naidu, strongly condemned the assault on a Muslim woman in Nandikotkur, Palnadu district, allegedly by a member of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).
Speaking at a ‘Prajagalam’ meeting on Saturday, Naidu accused the YSRCP of being complicit in the attack, linking the perpetrator to SAAP Chairman Byreddy Siddharth Reddy and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Naidu cited a string of incidents during Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure, labelling it as a period of widespread lawlessness. “Just yesterday, in Nandikotkur, a Muslim woman returning from prayers was reportedly assaulted by a rowdy associated with the YSRCP, identified as Srinivasa Reddy,” Naidu stated.
Expressing concern over the safety of citizens under the YSRCP’s governance, Naidu highlighted that the assailant went further to attack the woman’s husband and son when questioned about the incident. “Imagine the anguish if the same were to happen to one’s family members. My heart aches at the thought of such brutality against a woman and a mother,” he lamented.
Contrasting the situation with the TDP’s administration, Naidu emphasised that such attacks on minorities were unheard of during their tenure. He referenced tragic incidents like the suicides of Abdul Saleem’s family and Misbah, attributing them to alleged harassment by the YSRCP. Criticising the party’s handling of crimes against minorities, Naidu pointed out the lack of action taken against individuals involved in the rape of a minor Muslim girl in Gurazala. He singled out MLA Namburi Sankara Rao, alleging ties between the accused and the lawmaker, yet no repercussions have ensued.
