Jana Sena party chief and deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan has announced support to the Waqf bill in the Lok Sabha.
In a statement here on Wednesday, Pawan Kalyan said that the Jana Sena party has decided to support the Waqf bill in the Lok Sabha as it aimed to revamp the Waqf law. The JSP has asked its Lok Sabha members to vote in favour of the Waqf amendment bill, he stated. The amendment to the Wakf would benefit the Muslim society, he opined.
In the wake of the voting in the Parliament on the Waqf bill, JSP president Pawan Kalyan has directed the Jana Sena Lok Sabha members to vote in favour of the Waqf amendment bill.
He told the Jana Sena members of Parliament to participate in voting and vote in favor of this bill. “A Joint Parliamentary Committee with 31 members has been formed to review the bill related to amendments in the Waqf Act. This bill was drafted after discussing with the relevant sections, educated people and experts in the field of governance. By streamlining the British era Waqf Act in a manner suitable for today’s times, broad results will be achieved,” Pawan Kalyan revealed.
