Kakani hails verdict

Agriculture Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy has said that the State government welcomes the High Court verdict handing over the investigation of the case of stealing files from the court custody to the CBI.

Addressing a press conference following the High Court’s verdict on Thursday, the minister said that several articles were circulated on the theft of documents from the court custody in Nellore District Court and that he had faced accusations in the case.

Kakani Govardhan Reddy said that when High Court asked for its opinion, the State government made it clear that it is ready for any investigation. Moreover, his advocate had personally appeared before the High Court and told the court that he had no objection to the investigation by the CBI.

The High Court had handed over the investigation of stealing files from Nellore District Court to the CBI and the State government had hailed it, Kakani said. Stating that the CBI is the highest investigating agency in the country, the minister hoped that all facts in the case would come out in the CBI investigation.
