Kakinada GGH to be revamped with advanced equipment: DC

District Collector Shan Mohan has made it clear that the Government General Hospital (GGH), which is catering to the requirements of patients of Godavari districts, will be revamped by providing advanced equipment upgrading the departments.
In order to send a comprehensive report on the requirements of the hospital for development, the Collector visited the hospital on Wednesday and went round various departments along with the hospital superintendent, Dr. Lavanya Kumari.
The Collector asked the superintendent to write a detailed report on the list of vacancies, medical equipment requirements, and improvement of the infrastructure, including lift maintenance.
Collector Shan Mohan told media persons that discrete enquiries were made about the facilities available, especially for performing the preliminary surgeries , x-ray machines, operation theatres , operation theatre beds, lights, ventilators, and the staff availability. The GGH was one of the prominent hospitals in the state. A medical team from the USA has recently conducted a special cancer camp in the hospital, benefiting a large number of people.
It would be upgraded and developed all around based on the comprehensive report being submitted to the government,’ he added. Conceding that the maintenance of toilets in the hospital was to be improved, the collector said the staff was instructed to improve the toilets maintenance and send daily reports along with photos on the toilets condition.
GGH deputy superintendent Dr P Srinivas, RMO Dr Anitha, emergency wing chief Dr K Satyavani, and orthopaedic chief Dr Vithal were among those accompanying the collector during the visit.
