The grand “Kalavedika NTR Film Awards” ceremony, organised by Kalavedika and Raghavi Media, unfolded at Hyderabad’s Daspalla Hotel, paying tribute to distinguished personalities across various sectors of the film industry in honor of the legendary actor Dr. Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao.
The event commenced with a heartfelt prayer to Lord Ganesha, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting and soulful renditions of NTR’s iconic songs. Among the guests were Nandamuri Mohan Krishna, Nandamuri Mohan Roopa, veteran actor Murali Mohan, K.L. Damodar Prasad (President of the Telugu Film Producers Council), T. Prasanna Kumar (Secretary), MAA Vice President Madala Ravi and other luminaries from the film fraternity.
Murali Mohan, expressed his joy at the awards being named after NTR. He fondly recalled his personal association with NTR, reflecting on how their collaboration in the film Annadammula Anubandham established him as NTR’s on-screen brother, which resonated deeply with audiences. Murali Mohan lauded NTR’s profound impact in politics, reminiscing on his swift rise, founding a political party and implementing pioneering welfare schemes. He also praised NTR’s courage in standing up against formidable odds, concluding with gratitude for receiving the prestigious NTR Lifetime Achievement Award.
The ceremony included the presentation of several awards, each bestowed by Murali Mohan and Nandamuri Mohan Krishna. Congratulations were extended to all organisers for orchestrating a successful and memorable event dedicated to honouring the timeless contributions of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao.
