Industries Minister KT Rama Rao said that Telangana is ready for any eventuality in case of monsoon delay as it has confidence in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project’s capability. He said in a tweet, “Taking water from the Godavari River at the Laxmi Barrage from an altitude of 88 metres and pumping it to KP Sagar which is 618 metres above sea level through its 10 heavy-duty pumping stations is not a small thing.
These Bahubali motors are pumping water against its natural flow (reverse pumping) and push it into MMR and SRSP through the Flood Flow Canal.
Thanks to KLIS, SRSP will soon be filled to the brim. That’s why the Kaleshwaram Project is the lifeline of Telangana farmers in the Godavari catchment area.”
