Kalva promises modernisation of Tungabhadra high level canal

Newly-elected TDP MLA and former minister Kalva Srinivasulu has promised to take steps to modernise the Tungabhadra High-Level Canal and provide irrigation water to one lakh acres.
After being elected to the Legislative Assembly, Kalva Sriivasulu came to the Rayadurgam constituency for the first time. He was accorded a warm welcome by the TDP, JSP and BJP cadres. A huge rally was taken out which lasted over three hours in the town and the activists fired firecrackers along the rally, which began at the R&B guest house went via Bellary road and concluded at the NTR statue.
Srinivasulu garlanded the statue of TDP founder and former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao on the occasion. Addressing the cadres, Kalva Srinivasulu said that he was elected to the Assembly with a majority of 41,650 votes as the cadres worked hard and he thanked them.
He assured of launching the works to bring Krishna water to the Bairavani Thippa project. He said that the Untakallu balancing reservoir works would begin soon. “I will take steps to start the modernization works of HLC and provide irrigation water to one lakh acres,” he promised.
