A stillbirth at the Government Hospital here led to a protest on Wednesday. Relatives of the woman, who was said to have delivered a stillborn child, alleged that the doctor’s negligence had led to the tragedy.
A 2-year-old woman, identified as Kalpana, was admitted to the hospital at 9 am for childbirth. The doctors promised to perform a caesarean section after the woman developed labour pains.
The relatives of the woman claimed that she developed labour pains around 3 pm. But, the doctor took her into the operation theatre at 8.20 pm. Later, a doctor called the woman’s husband to tell the shocking news that it was a case of stillbirth.
The relatives of the woman demanded that the government order an inquiry and take action against the doctors responsible for the tragedy.
