Kanaka Durga appears as Lalitha Tripura Sundari

Must read

On the fourth day of Dasara Navaratri celebrations, goddess Kanaka Durga appeared as Sri Lalitha Tripura Sundari Devi. She is the Echa, Chaitanya Gnyana Shakthi Swaroopini. Lalita means she who plays, all creation, manifestation and dissolution. Lalitha Tripura Sundari means ‘The Most Beautiful Girl in the three Worlds’.
She appears enthroned with her left foot upon the Sri Chakra, holding her traditional symbols like sugarcane, flower, noose (pasam), goad (amkusam), and right side with goddess Lakshmi Devi and left side with goddess Saraswathi Devi.
On the fourth day of Dasara Navaratri celebrations atop Indrakiladri hill, devotees in large numbers thronged the temple to have darshan of Sri Lalita Tripura Sundari Devi. In view of Sunday, the rush was more than expected and the authorities had a tough time catering to the needs of the devotees.
Officials also took care to arrange hassle-free darshan for VIPs and VVIPs. They acted swiftly using a special app for issuing passes. District Collector Dr G Srijana said that they have been issuing VIP passes in 21 categories. For the convenience of the devotees, the officials did not allow their vehicles on the hill. Those having VIP passes were advised to come to Punnami Ghat.
Meanwhile, scores of VIP devotees, including differently-abled persons, senior citizens and women, faced an unexpected ordeal on Sunday during their visit to the temple. What should have been a privileged and smooth darshan experience quickly turned into a test of endurance as devotees found themselves stranded due to shortage of transport services.
They were left waiting for more than 30 minutes in the hot sun. Despite holding VIP passes, which are supposed to ensure a hassle-free darshan, these pilgrims were forced to endure harsh conditions, leaving many frustrated and exhausted.
Temple authorities and police were quick to address the immediate concerns by providing water and buttermilk to help the devotees cope with the heat. Volunteers and police assisted the differently-abled and elderly devotees to reach the main deity in wheelchairs after they reached uphill in government-arranged vehicles. However, the lack of sufficient transportation for the elderly, differently-abled, and VIP devotees remains a critical issue.
