Former BJP AP unit president Kanna Lakshminarayana is likely to join the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) along with followers and supporters in the presence of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu on February 23, sources said.
To this regard, Kanna conducted a meeting in his residence at Guntur on Sunday and discussed his future political strategies with well wishers, supporters and followers.
However Kanna did not reveal his plans of joining the TDP but sources say that he all set to join TDP on February 23.
It may be recalled that a few days ago, he conducted talks with Jana Sena senior leader Nadendla Manohar at Guntur and later submitted his resignation to BJP. The speculation about Lakshmi-narayana joining Jana Sena went viral but it did not materialize. The sources said that Jana Sena is still in alliance with BJP hence there is no use in joining Pawan Kalyan’s party. They said that if Pawan cuts poll alliance ties with BJP then there would be a chance for Kanna to join JSP, but it seems it would not happen and will take a lot of time.
The sources said that it was not immediately clear whether Lakshminarayana’s induction will take place at the party’s state office in Amaravati or at Chandrababu Naidu’s residence in Hyderabad. They said that Lakshminarayana conducted a meeting in his house at Guntur on Sunday and discussed the political strategies. The leaders, supporters and well wishers opined that TD had chances of winning elections compared to Jana Sena hence TD will be the best choice. Further, they sought Lakshminarayana to secure assurance for a ticket to contest from Guntur West or Sattenapalli in the elections as the duo are safe segments.
