Kasireddy Rajasekhar Reddy, arrested in connection with the liquor scam, was interrogated by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Vijayawada on Tuesday.
He was apprehended at Shamshabad airport in Hyderabad on Monday and brought to Vijayawada, where he was questioned for over seven hours.
The SIT reportedly obtained vital details regarding the scam during the interrogation.
Following a medical examination at the Government General Hospital, Kasireddy was produced before the ACB court. His lawyers, Ponnavolu Sudhakar and Dushyant Reddy, sought bail, while prosecutors Kalyan and Vijay opposed it. Kasireddy told the judge that he had informed the police of his willingness to cooperate but was arrested nonetheless. He also claimed that only his car was seized by the police.
The court expressed dissatisfaction with the vague remand report, questioning the police on the arrest procedure and the absence of Kasireddy’s name in the FIR. The Public Prosecutor argued for custody, stating it was necessary for further investigation.
