BRS MLC Kavitha has broken her silence on the internal strife in her party and alleged betrayal, political conspiracy and targeted attacks against her by her party.

In what is being seen as a bold counter-narrative, she also raised concerns about the Congress government’s inaction on key inter-state issues and the future of Telangana.

She declared that she would work only under KCR’s leadership and not anyone else, and took a strong stand that the BRS shouldn’t confine itself to tweets.

Her sharpest words were reserved for her own party. Kavitha said that secret attempts are being made to hand over the BRS to the BJP, a move she claimed to have opposed even when she was in jail.

“This proposal came to me during my time in custody. I rejected it. I am against merging BRS with the BJP. Let them put me in jail for another year. I’m ready. But don’t let lakhs of our BRS cadres suffer,” she said.

She lashed out at party leaders who, she alleged, are now preaching morals to her.

“When KCR got Kaleshwaram notices, there was no village-level action plan. But if I speak up, they call me out. I asked for the Nizamabad in-charge post, and KCR told me later that he realised MLAs didn’t work for me. I didn’t seek posts or power,” she added, recalling how she had launched the Telangana Jagruthi while pregnant in 2006.

Kavitha claimed that she never took money from KCR or the party. “I asked to lead, to protest, but now they are attacking me with paid artists and false leaks. I can’t backstab,” she said bluntly.

In a clear message to the BRS leadership, she said, “The party is mine too. The cadres stand with me.

Today, those who never moved without KCR’s shadow are mocking me for speaking out. When Telangana Talli was changed, I alone protested through Jagruthi. The others did nothing but tweet.”

Kavitha expressed deep anguish that one of the leading newspapers had published negative stories about her, and yet the party had failed to defend her.

“They protected a senior leader in a similar situation, but left me out. Even party workers on social media were unleashed against me,” she said.

She also said that internal messengers, claiming to represent KCR, were leaking false information and blamed her for leaking letters. “I have written hundreds of letters. What’s wrong in that? Instead of finding the real culprits of the paper leak, they are showing power over me,” she argued.

KCR reads letters and tears them off but somehow mine got leaked, she said.

Touching upon her strained ties with the Congress, she said she had spoken to the party in 2013, but added that it is now a sinking boat nationally. At the same time, she told BRS leaders who are now “celebrating TG formation in the United States” that the party’s core values are being eroded in the state.
“There’s no scene that I’ll be sent out of the party. I’m not going anywhere,” she declared, adding that she’s planning to protest again under the Jagruthi banner on June 3, even if somebody in the party “cries about it.”

Taking aim at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Kavitha ridiculed his claim that he never opposed Telangana’s projects.

“The Banakacharla Project came up only after CBN met Revanth at the Praja Bhavan. It’s part of the NDA deal. Andhra wants project-based allocation to grab more Godavari water. Future Telangana will suffer if our government doesn’t push back,” she warned.

In one of her most telling statements, she said, “Show your power to outsiders, not against your people. Don’t attack a woman like some Greek warrior. Let’s protect KCR, not silence his daughter.”
