BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha made it clear that she has no personal agenda and would not tolerate any disrespect towards her father BRS founder K Chandrasekhar Rao. She reiterated that her recent letter was written in anguish and is intended only to protect the party she loves.

Kavitha was speaking to the media on Thursday while visiting the family of late journalist Munir.

Referring to her time in prison, Kavitha revealed that BJP leaders had approached her with a proposal to merge the BRS with the BJP.

“I strongly opposed it. No matter the circumstances, I will never accept a merger with the BJP. Parties that allied with the BJP have not fared well,” she said and warned her party to avoid any such move.

She recalled how the BRS Jagruthi commemorated icons like Bhagya Reddy Varma and PV Narasimha Rao and created opportunities for youth in SCCL, especially in legacy jobs, thanks to KCR’s vision.

“When Kaleshwaram probe notices are being served on KCR, why are senior BRS leaders silent? The issues I raised in the letter are what people are already thinking,” she said, indirectly questioning the silence within the party.

Later, addressing the media on camera, Kavitha launched a fierce attack on the BJP regarding ‘Operation Kagar.’ She said the encounter killing of Maoist leader Nambala Keshava Rao was handled in a very inhumane manner. “They didn’t even hand over his body to the family for the last rites. Is this the BJP’s definition of culture?” she asked. Despite repeated pleas to stop the operation, the BJP continues its violent campaign, she added.
