Kazakh keen on direct flights between Astana and Hyd

Dr Nawab Mir Nasir Ali Khan, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hyderabad for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, met with the Governor of Telangana, Jishnu Dev Varma, at the Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The meeting followed Dr Khan’s recent official visit to Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan.
 Dr Khan briefed the Governor about his productive discussions in Astana. A key highlight was his meeting with Yousuf Aljawder, Chairman of the Management Board of Astana International Airport, and Talgat Lastayev, Vice Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The discussions focused on the prospects of operating direct flights between Hyderabad and Astana. Both Kazakh officials expressed keen interest in launching these direct flights and committed to visiting Hyderabad by the end of this year. Their visit aims to engage in further talks with GMR Airport and Indian airline operators to facilitate the initiation of these operations.
He also informed the Governor about his engagement with Kairat Sadvakassov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “National Company Kazakh Tourism.” During this meeting, they discussed plans to jointly promote tourism between India and Kazakhstan. Sadvakassov is scheduled to visit Hyderabad in November-December 2024 to organize a tourism promotion program in partnership with the Consulate of Kazakhstan in Hyderabad, thereby strengthening tourism ties between the two nations.
Additionally, he discussed his meeting with Kairat Torebayev.

The discussion centered on the significant potential for enhancing export and import activities between India and Kazakhstan, particularly in the fields of pharmaceuticals and information technology.
