BRS President and the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is conducting a fresh survey on the prospects of the party candidates. Based on several survey reports KCR has selected the party candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections.
Out of total 119 Assembly seats, KCR has announced 115 candidates at a time. Now he wants to know that the candidates position is the same after announcing their candidature or there is any change.
KCR expected some dissidence in the party after announcing the candidates list. But he never thought there will be so much of dissidence in the party leaders. The BRS circles feel after the announcement of the candidates that there was a lot of change at the field level. Some BRS candidates are facing very bad weather from the party dissidents. The BRS leadership in the surveys collected the opinion of the people on the sitting MLAs but did not gather the opinion of local party leaders on the MLAs. Now the BRS leadership is seeing different political picture at the ground level.
After taking Patnam Mahendar Reddy into the Cabinet and appointing Vemulavada MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh as a government advisor, the dissidents are becoming further aggressive over the party candidates in their constituencies in hope that the leadership may give some benefit to them also. Both Mahendar Reddy and Ramesh were denied the assembly tickets and both were thought to leave the party.
Keeping this in view the BRS leadership has satisfied both of them. In one way this also led to an increase in the dissidence in the party.
After announcing the candidates to know their prospects KCR is conducting a fresh survey.
He wants to know if there will be any impact of the dissidents on the prospects of the party candidates or not. Will the dissidents make the people to change their opinion on the party candidates or still they were of the same opinion before and after announcing the candidates, is something being observed by the party leadership. According to sources, if the dissidents affect is more on any candidate there are chances for changing the candidates. Announcing the candidates in advance helped the BRS leadership to know how much dissidence is there in the party. There is a lot of time for the leadership to pacify the dissidents or for changing the candidates. If the BRS leadership announces the list in the last minute there will be no time to pacify the dissidents or to change the candidates.
