BRS ranks celebrated Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s decision to contest from Kamareddy. Sources said that the CM chose Kamareddy to increase the party’s strength in erstwhile Nizamabad district.

KCR’s survey reportedly revealed that the BRS is facing adverse conditions in three Assembly seats in the erstwhile Nizamabad district. In this background, party sources said that KCR concluded that if he contests from Kamareddy, BRS can clean sweep the joint Nizamabad district.

At the same time, the party’s leaders are saying that if KCR contests to the LS from Zaheerabad, he can influence the four MP seats of Nizamabad, Medak, Adilabad and Karimnagar. It seems that KCR targeted Kamareddy in the background of the Assembly and Parliament elections.

KCR’s mother Venkatamma’s hometown is the Konapur village of Bibipet mandal in Kamareddy constituency. Father Raghav Rao of Rajanna Mohini Kunta hails from the Mustabad mandal in Sircilla district.

Raghavrao and Venkatamma came to Konapur after marriage. At that time, Konapur was flooded due to the construction of the Upper Maneru Project by Rajanna Sirisilla. Hundreds of acres belonging to Raghavrao got flooded.

As a result, KCR’s family migrated to Chintamadaka in Siddipet district and built a permanent residence. KTR came to Konapur of Bibipet mandal to launch development projects last year. At that time, KTR visited his grandmother’s house in Konapur.

With the desire to do something for his hometown, KTR built a government school in Konapur with his own funds of Rs 2.5 crore. Apart from the school building, many BT and CC roads and culverts have also been constructed in that village. KTR will reportedly launch these projects soon.

In the Kamareddy constituency, Velama votes are only around 2,000. There are around 31,000 votes in the constituency belonging to the Mudiraj community.

Then there are 28,000 minority votes, 16,000 votes of Munnur Kapu, 16,000 votes of Vysyas and 2,000 votes of Arya Kshatriyas. The total number of votes in this constituency is 2,27,807, of which 1,10,056 voters are male. There are 1,17,787 women and 28 third genders.

Gampa Govardhan of the BRS won the Assembly election in 2018 with a majority of 4,557 votes. In that election, 1,62,231 votes were polled and 68,167 votes were bagged by Gampa Govardhan. Congress candidate Shabbir Ali got 63,610 votes and came second.
