Alleging that phone tapping took place in Sircilla during Assembly elections, senior Congress leader KK Mahender Reddy of Sircilla said that former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and BRS Working President KT Rama Rao were behind it.
Mahender filed the complaint with Hyderabad Police Commissioner Kothakota Srinivas Reddy on Monday regarding this.
Later, speaking to the media, Mahender alleged that the BRS government heads had set up a war room in Sircilla and tapped phones.
He said that the hands of KCR and KTR were there behind the setting up of the Sircilla war room. He said that they tapped his phone and the phones of leaders of other political parties.
Mahender said that he had appealed to the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner to take strong action against persons who have engaged in phone tapping.
Mahbubnagar MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy, who also filed a complaint with DGP Ravi Gupta, accompanied Mahender.
