Interesting developments are taking place in Telangana.
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter MLC Kavitha left for New Delhi on Wednesday to take part in a dharna demanding reservations for women in legislative bodies. The dharna will take place on March 10 in New Delhi.
Before leaving for New Delhi Kavitha reportedly spoke to her father Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. He assured Kavitha that the BRS would stand behind her and told her not to worry.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued a notice to Kavitha to appear before them on March 9 in New Delhi in connection with the Delhi liquor scam. As per Kavitha’s request the ED agreed to change the date and now she will appear before the ED on March 11.
There are speculations in BRS circles that if the ED arrests Kavitha, KCR is planning to dissolve the Assembly and go for early elections.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah advanced his Hyderabad visit from March 12 to March 11. In fact, Amit was scheduled to come to Hyderabad on March 12 to attend the meeting of intellectuals planned at Nizamabad.
But according to the changed programme, the Nizamabad meeting has been cancelled and Amit is coming to Hyderabad on March 11.
When Kavitha appears before the ED, Amit Shah will be arriving in Hyderabad. He will hold a meeting with BJP leaders to discuss the Assembly elections.
There are speculations that if the ED arrests Kavitha on March 11, the BRS is planning a state-wide protest against the BJP-led Centre. If the BRS launches a state-wide protest Union Home minister Amit Shah who is arriving to Hyderabad on the same day will decide what strategy to follow to counter the BRS.
The BRS is holding a joint meeting of the BRS Parliamentary Party, Legislature Party and Executive Committee on March 10 at the Telangana Bhavan under the chairmanship of KCR.
For this, KCR who is also the BRS President is holding a cabinet meeting as well as a joint meeting of MPs, MLAs and BRS Executive Committee Members.
The BRS may take extreme steps against the BJP depending on developments in the Delhi liquor scam.
