KCR may go to Maharashtra on Aug 1

Hyderabad: Telangana CM BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao who is focussing on Maharashtra is likely to visit the state on August 1. Recently, he went to Maharashtra with a huge convoy of 600 cars and created a stir.

As part of his visit, KCR will attend the birth anniversary celebrations of Maharashtrian Dalit leader Tukaram Bhaurao Sathe, popularly known as Anna Bhau Sathe, who was a social reformer, folk poet, and writer from Maharashtra.

Later, the CM will visit Mahalakshmi Amma in Kolhapur. After that, KCR will meet the grandson of Sahu Maharaj.

Recently, KCR also appointed the BRS in-charge in Maharashtra. He issued orders appointing Kalvakuntla Vamsidhar Rao as the Maharashtra BRS in-charge. Vamshidhar Rao is the son of KCR’s elder brother Kalvakuntla Ranga Rao. A fan of megastar Chiranjeevi, Vamshidhar joined the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) when it was floated in 2008. After the party’s disastrous performance, he became inactive in politics.

Vamshidhar had recently undertaken social activities in Siddipet in the name of the Ranga Rao Foundation. There was a buzz in political circles that he is trying for a BRS ticket from Siddipet, which is currently represented by KCR’s nephew T. Harish Rao.

KCR, on Friday, appointed a temporary steering committee for the BRS in Maharashtra. The BRS chief himself will lead the steering committee. The members of the committee are former MLAs Bhanudas Murkute, Shankar Anna Dhondge, Anna Saheb Mane, Deepak Aatram, former MP Haribhau Rathore, Ghanshyam Shelar, Kisan Cell president Manik Kadam, Kalvakuntla Vamshidhar Rao, Dnyanesh Wakudkar, Sachin Sathe, Shusri Surekha Punekar, Kadir Maulana, Yashpal Bhinge and Firoj Patel.
