BRS president Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is aiming to win around 50 Lok Sabha seats to play a key role at the Centre. As part of this, KCR has been expanding his party to other states.

He recently expanded his party to Madhya Pradesh via Maharashtra. KCR’s strategy is to field strong leaders in elections and these leaders will work hard for their victory without KCR’s involvement, it is learnt.

Targeting to win 50 Lok Sabha seats, KCR has been stating that his party will contest all elections in Maharashtra and in Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka. Sources said KCR thinks that he can play a key role in national politics if he wins around 30 seats. The party’s plan is to forge a Third Front if the BJP and the Congress fail to gain a clear majority in the 2024 elections.

The BRS has nine seats in the Lok Sabha from Telangana, and it is planning to increase this number this time. At the same time, the BRS will concentrate on 40 more seats in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.

The party will test its prospects in the upcoming elections in Telangana and Madhya Pradesh. If possible it will also field its candidates in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan Assembly elections too.

As part of this strategy, the party has been inducting more former MPs. KCR gave the responsibility of Madhya Pradesh to former BJP MP Buddasen Patel and Odisha to former Chief Minister and nine times MP Giridhar Gamang.

It is learnt that KCR may focus mainly on Maharashtra (48 MP seats), Madhya Pradesh (29), Karnataka (28), Telangana (17) and Odisha (21) which have 143 seats Lok Sabha seats. KCR is confident of winning up to 50 seats and hopes to play a key role in national politics.KCR has already opened his party office in the RSS bastion of Nagpur in its own building. KCR is going to open more offices across Maharashtra cities and towns by purchasing buildings to make the party’s mark much before the Lok Sabha elections.

KCR has already conducted three public meetings in Maharashtra in Nanded, Kandar Loha and Sambaji Nagar (Aurangabad). It is learnt that the BRS is going to organise several public meetings in Maharashtra in future.

In fact, the BRS has already opened his account in Maharashtra in the Ambelohal village in Sambaji Nagar district by winning a ward member’s post. KCR has announced that his party is going to contest in all local body elections in Maharashtra.
