PNS | KAMAREDDY
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) national president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s decision to contest from Gajwel and Kamareddy is a “strategic move,” said BRS MLC K Kavitha on Monday.
Speaking at a media conference at the local MLA’s camp officer here, local MLA Gampa Goverdhan, who is also the Government Whip, defeated former minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir four times in a row. The BRS announced candidates for 115 constituencies. But, the BJP and the Congress have not yet announced their candidate, she said.
Reacting to the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) declaration released by All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge at Chevella, Kavitha pointed out that the Congress party’s love for Dalits was smacked of hypocrisy and treachery. The Congress held the record of ruling India for the longest period since Independence, she said. However, it failed to alleviate poverty and help the Dalits come out of poverty. Now, the Congress was showing love for Dalits and it was smacked of hypocrisy, she remarked. The SC/ST declaration would remain unimplemented.
She came down on the Congress party for failing to fulfil its election promises in Karnataka. On the pretext of poor financial crisis in the State, the Congress government in Karnataka scrapped “freebies.”
Kavitha described Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s comments at the Khammam public meeting were ridiculous. It was the BJP-ruled Centre that brought three black laws to destroy the farmers. The BJP insisted on fixing meters for agricultural pump sets.
The Centre copied the Telangana government’s Rythu Bandhu scheme. The Narendra Modi government said that it would provide Rythu Bandhu benefits for 13 crore farmers. But, only 2.5 crore farmers were being benefited, she said.
Kavitha lists the welfare schemes being implemented by the State government.
