Must read

The Congress party activists and leaders are in a jubilant mood as the Congress nominee from Khammam Lok Sabha candidate won the seat with a bumper majority.
The BJP which was related to third place in the contest is, however, happy over increasing of the vote share to 9.48 per cent against the usual vote share less than 1.5%.

The election results caused much despair to the BRS. The party which could not win at least one seat in Khammam district and failed miserably in the recent Lok Sabha elections lost at least 1.60 lakh to other parties. By virtue of the cross-voting, the BJP got at least one lakh votes and 35,000 votes to the Congress. Though the BRS announced its candidate much in advance, compared to other parties, and fielded the sitting MP, the electoral loss caused much despair to the party. The party the loss of votes would be around 1.60 lakh. But the nearest Congress rival was polled a majority of 4,67,847 votes to the chagrin of the BRS leadership. The Congress nominee Raghuram Reddywon the seat with a huge margin of votes as the traditional BRS voters voted to the BJP. He got majroty in all seven Assembly segments.
