The alleged kidnap of a newly-married woman in Kothagudem on Thursday created panic. The kidnap was carried out in a filmi style.
According to police, unidentified assailants assaulted the husband and forcibly took away the bride while the couple was travelling in an auto-rickshaw.
Naveen and Madhavi, who had a love marriage recently, were travelling in an auto-rickshaw when unidentified assailants, who came by car, stopped them and forcibly took away the bride. They had beaten up Naveen.
Madhavi, who was studying MBA, was going to college when the assailants stopped them.
Naveen lodged a complaint with the police. He apprehended a threat to his life. Naveen said that some assailants, who opposed their inter-caste marriage, could have attacked him. Police registered a case.
