Union Minister for Tourism and Culture G Kishan Reddy clarified that he did not predict that Visakhapatnam would be the capital city of AP.
Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Kishan Reddy made it clear that BJP is in favour of Amaravati as the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. “The BJP in AP abides by Amaravati as the capital city of AP. The comments, which I have made during the MLC election campaign in Visakhapatnam, were misinterpreted,” Kishan Reddy stated on Twitter.
Visakhapatnam is the district capital and he made the comment keeping in view its district capital status, he clarified and made it clear that he did not predict that Visakhapatnam will be the capital of AP.
It may be mentioned here that Kishan Reddy’s comments embarrassed the BJP leaders in AP. Kishan Reddy’s clarification today came as a respite for them.
