The Congress’s promise to give reservations to Muslims is a blatant betrayal of Babasaheb Ambedkar’s vision and the principles enshrined in our Constitution, Telangana BJP President G. Kishan Reddy said and added that it was appeasement politics at its worst.
He countered Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s statement in Pune during the Maharashtra Assembly election campaign in which the CM said, “After forming the government (in Maharashtra) we will discuss it (Muslim reservations). Muslims have been given four per cent reservations in Telangana. We gave a five per cent quota but since that led to the breach of the 50% limit, the Supreme Court ordered to decrease that. In Telangana, we recruited 11,000 teachers and 720 Muslims were hired as per the quota for them. Those who are poor and those who are in need, it is the Congress’s responsibility to do justice to them.”
Responding to this Kishan posted on X, “This is appeasement politics at its worst. The Congress’s promise to give reservations to Muslims is a blatant betrayal of Babasaheb Ambedkar’s vision and the principles enshrined in our Constitution. The move not only fans communal division but also puts in danger the reservations for SCs, STs and OBCs. The BJP will never let this happen. We are committed to safeguarding Babasaheb’s Constitution. The people of Maharashtra must beware of regressive religion-based reservation.”
KCR & Revanth buried ethical values: Kishan
The BRS and the Congress have watered downed politics in the state, Telangana BJP President G. Kishan Reddy said.
He said the Congress government is like the BRS government. The people are facing the same corruption in the state, he said and added that KCR and Revanth have given up ‘ethical values’ in politics. Both are trying to destroy the state totally, he said. Revanth had set up a task force to borrow money while KCR took loans amounting to Rs 7 lakh crore, Kishan said.
Criticising the ‘Gulam to Gujarat’ comments against him, Kishan said that he is a gulam of the nation, the BJP, Sardar Vallabhai Patel and other national heroes. He said that he is not a Gulam of the fake Gandhi family.
Addressing a workshop on the Congress government’s failures on Monday, Kishan said the Congress assured that it will enhance Rythu Bharosa funds and pensions but not even a single rupee has been increased. The government is also not giving new pensions. However, Revanth is engaging in personal criticism throwing all assurances to the wind, he said.
“Moreover, Revanth said in Maharashtra while campaigning there that Telangana has become a full green state. Can there be a greater lie than these? Both the Congress and the BRS are trying to hide their errors. However, the BJP is engaged in constructive politics. The party would appoint polling booth committees for local body elections. There would be mandal level workshops. The dates will be announced in New Delhi on November 22 during the party’s organisational meeting, he said.
