Kishan Reddy to open thousand pillar kalyana mantap tomorrow

The Kalyana Mantap of the historic thousand pillar temple will be declared open by Union Minister G Kishan Reddy at 6 am on March 8 on the occasion of Mahasiva Ratri. Thousands of devotees will throng the temple on the day to have darshan of presiding deity Lord Rudreshwara.
The Department of Archaeology has made all arrangements for the festival.
In fact, Kalyana Mantap of the temple was under facelift for the past 19 years.
Minister for Tourism Jupally Krishna Rao, Endowments Minister Konda Surekha, Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and D Sitakka and Director General of Department of Archaeology Yadubir Singh Rawat will attend.
Kishan Reddy, who is scheduled to visit Warangal on March 7 itself to declare open the Light and Sound Show at Warnagal fort, will stay put for the night in Warangal and declare open the Kalyana Mantap of the historic temple on March 8.
Tamil Nadu-based sculptor Siva Kumar handled the project implemented at an estimated cost of Rs 5 crore. There was an inordinate delay in release of funds for over 19 years.
