There is a proverb in Telugu saying, ‘a Reddy came and started the game from the beginning.’ The proverb seems to be right in the case of the Telangana BJP as its new President G. Kishan Reddy, who is going to take over as the Telangana BJP President on Friday, said on Thursday that a ‘war has started with the BRS’ and that it was started by the BRS.

He said that the BJP is ready to face the ‘war’ started by the BRS and that the BJP has not started a full-fledged war so far against the BRS.

“War has begun today. We are ready to fight the Kalvakuntla family and the BRS. We will continue the war on behalf of the people. Our political life started with movements. We went to jail several times. We did not get posts due to our fathers,” he said.

It may be recalled that the former Telangana BJP President Sanjay had said several times that a ‘war has started’ against the BRS government. Now, Kishan has made the same statement after the police left him at the BJP State office after stopping him at Shamshabad when he tried to go to Batasingaram to inspect double-bedroom houses. The police took him into custody and he was taken to different areas of the city.

Speaking to the media, Kishan asked the BRS government to reveal whether he has no right to inspect the double-bedroom houses as a Union Minister.

“The police behaved towards me like a criminal. How long will the CM suppress protests sitting in Pragathi Bhavan?” he asked.

Kishan said that he tried to inspect the houses left half-constructed at Batasingaram. But the police arrested him. The police did not listen even though I tried to explain that they are not planning any protest, he said.

Kishan said that both the Police Commissioner and the DCP behaved shockingly. He said that KCR has money to construct costly houses and buy planes but no money to construct houses for the poor.

He challenged KCR to construct 50 lakh houses if he has the guts as he is ready to make the Centre contribute its part.
