Chief Minister Revanth Reddy promised an investment of Rs 10,000 crore over the next five years for the development of Kodangal and accused opposition leaders of conspiring to block progress in the region.
Addressing a preparatory meeting for the “Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan Abhiyan” at his residence in Kodangal on Saturday, the Chief Minister lashed out at both the BJP and the BRS for targeting his constituency.
Revanth came down heavily on Union Home Minister Amit Shah and accused him of ‘insulting’ Dr BR Ambedkar with his recent statements in Parliament.
“The Union Minister’s comments indirectly ‘support’ those who were ‘responsible for the assassination’ of Mahatma Gandhi,” he said.
Revanth hailed Ambedkar as a revered figure respected in all villages through statues and said that the Constitution authored by Ambedkar was the foundation of India’s social transformation.
Taking a dig at BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Revanth accused him of deliberately skipping Assembly sessions to avoid accountability. “KCR does not attend the House, fearing exposure, and those from the BRS who attend have neither the knowledge nor the interest to learn,” he said.
The Chief Minister claimed that opposition parties were restless after the power
centre shifted from Siddipet, Gajwel and Sircilla to Kodangal after the Congress came to power. “They are conspiring to destabilise Kodangal,” he warned, asserting that while he takes responsibility for safeguarding Telangana, Congress workers will defend Kodangal like a fortress.
Revanth said that Kodangal would hold the Chief Minister’s chair for the next 10 years and vowed to develop the region during this period.
Stressing the need for industrialisation, he said, “People are migrating from this region due to lack of industries. I will ensure industries are established here to provide jobs.”
Addressing concerns over land acquisition, Revanth assured that families losing land for industrial development would be given two jobs each. “I want to see happiness in your eyes. It is my duty to create jobs for all families here,” he said.
Lashing out at those ‘opposing’ development, the Chief Minister said, “Some forces, who gained from diesel deals, are trying to block Kodangal’s growth. But I want to make it clear that if development is sabotaged, all of us will suffer, not just me.”
He also said that the people of Kodangal would not tolerate anyone trying to block development, adding that his goal is to raise land prices by at least Rs 1 crore per acre in the constituency through systematic development.
The Chief Minister attended the Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Bramotasavam and an Iftar party at Kodangal earlier in the day.
Kodangal will hold CM’s seat for 10 yrs, asserts Revanth
