On the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, Minister for Mines and Excise, Kollu Ravindra, extended greetings to the people across the State. He performed a holy bath in River Krishna at Durga Ghat in Vijayawada and conducted tarpanam (ritual offerings) for his ancestors. Following this, he participated in the abhishekam (ritual worship) at the Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple in Mutyalampadu.
Speaking to the media persons later, he expressed his wish for everyone in the State to receive the blessings of Lord Shiva. He noted that on this auspicious day, people rise early to take sacred baths along riverbanks and perform tarpanam for their ancestors. He mentioned that devotees observe fasting and engage in worship of Parameshwara from the time of Linga Udbhava (the emergence of the Shiva Lingam).
Kollu Ravindra stressed his hope that the grace of Parameshwara would be upon all the people of the State. He prayed for divine blessings for the State’s development and wished everyone a happy Maha Shivaratri. Telugu Desam Party State secretary K Nagendra Kumar and other party leaders including Watapalli Ramakrishna were present on the occasion.
