Komatireddy distances from party activities

Bhongir MLA and TPCC star campaigner Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has once again expressed his unhappiness over the ways of the party. Komatireddy, who has been staying away from party activities since the first meeting of the Pradesh Election Committee, is understood to have made it clear to party big wigs: “For me, self-respect is first and party next”.Leaders like AICC secretary SA Sampath Kumar later went to Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s residence to mend matters.

However, Komatireddyis believed to have told Sampath that the party was not giving respect to him and hence there was no meaning in attending party meetings or taking up its activities.

It is learnt that Komatireddyis sore because the party had not given him a suitable position. His bitterness intensified after the announcement of CWC and CEC members. Therefore, he did not air his opinion to the Screening Committee about ticket aspirants.

It may be recalled that Komatireddy had openly criticized the party and TPCC president Revanth Reddy when the high command made Revanth Reddy the TPCC chief. Komatireddy had distanced himself from the party thereafter, with his anger mounting during the Munugode by-poll.

After the party’s Karnataka victory, Komatireddy started mingling with party leaders and started participating in some of the party’s activities. Komatireddy also criticized the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samiti party alleging that it was not giving 24-hour free power to the farmers by making electricity sub-stations’logbooks public and thereby dampened the impact of the damage caused to the party by Revanth Reddy’s controversial comments on free power to the farm sector.Komatireddyis once again impatient on ticket distribution.

AICC general secretary KC Venugopal is understood to have made a phone call to Komatireddy and suggested that problems if any could be solved internally. Venugopal also promised to do justice to Komatireddy.

Manikrao Thakre and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka went to Komatireddy’s residence and spoke to him.

Later, speaking to the media, Bhatti said that Komatireddy was a vibrant leader and was not feeling unhappy. They said that they went to Komatireddy’s residence for having lunch. Thakre said that Komatireddy was a big leader and was happy.
