Komatireddy donated advanced medical equipment to government hospital

Minister of Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has donated advanced medical equipment worth Rs. 30 lakh to the Nalgonda Medical Children’s Health Centre through the Prateek Foundation.
“Inform me of any need, and I will arrange it within 24 hours, ” he told the officials and added that “not all work can be done by governments. As fellow human beings, we should do some service.”
Speaking to the media later, the Minister said that when the District Collector brought the issue of a shortage of medical equipment at the Newborn Care Centre in the Nalgonda Government General Hospital to his attention, he immediately called the District Medical and Health Officer and with a contribution of Rs 30 lakh, arranged for advanced medical equipment to be set up within 24 hours.
The Minister highlighted that Nalgonda is the second most populous district after Hyderabad. He mentioned that the Government General Hospital in Nalgonda receives around 1,500 outpatients and over 1,000 inpatients daily. Approximately 600 deliveries take place per month. He recalled that 12 years ago, when he was an MLA, the Newborn Care Centre was set up, and now, through the Prateek Foundation, advanced medical equipment worth Rs 30 lakh has been given to the centre.
He explained that with the new equipment, conditions such as jaundice, low birth weight, inability of mothers to breastfeed, and various other issues that hinder immediate breastfeeding can now be addressed effectively. He further emphasised that the emergency medical treatment provided by doctors in the government hospital for newborns and deliveries would benefit the poor.
 Recently, advanced 108 ambulance vehicles were also allotted to the district and the Minister urged people to make the best use of them. He also stated that he would begin inspecting Gurukul residential schools next week to review the facilities provided to students.
District Collector Tripathi expressed her gratitude for the Minister’s swift action in providing necessary medical equipment for the Newborn Care Center.
