Komatireddy launched pulse polio immunisation drive

Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has called upon parents to get their children, below five years of age, vaccinated during the pulse polio immunisation programme.
He was inaugurating a programme at the urban primary health centre at Manyam Chelka, near here, on Sunday, by administering pulse polio drops to children.
He appealed to the parents of children to protect the children from polio, which results in deformity, through vaccination.
The District Medical and Health Department undertook the pulse polio immunisation programme to benefit 1,61,925 children, below five years of age. A total of 981 pulse polio immunisation centres were opened and 3,924 health staff was deployed to make the programme a success.
The Minister called for administering the polio drops to children below 5 years of age in slum areas, rural areas, railway stations and bus stations.
Earlier, Nalgonda Municipal Chairman Burri Srinivas Reddy administered polio drops to children.
District Collector Dasari Hari Chandana, District Medical and Health Officer Dr Kondal Rao, Deputy DMHO Venugopal Reddy, district immunisation programme Dr Zameer, GGH superintendent Dr Nityananda, MCHPO Dr Arundhati Reddy and others were present.
