Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that God created teachers to nurture children.
He was the chief guest at the Teachers Day celebrations organised by the District Education Department at Gandamoni Maisaiah Function Hall in Nalgonda on Thursday
The Minister said that Gurus are like God and many who studied in government schools are now in high positions in the society. He said that when he visits government schools, he feels like visiting a temple. He said that in recent times, many changes have taken place in the government education system and in some schools the number of teachers is more than the students. Such a situation needs to be changed.
The Minister said that to strengthen the education system, teachers should teach students the same way they teach their own children. He called upon the teachers in the district to strive to make Nalgonda district to ensure that Nalgonda district stands top in the forthcoming SSC public examinations. As part of his efforts to develop the education system, steps are being taken to construct a new building for Komatireddy Pratheek Reddy Junior College. He also said that efforts are being made to develop various government schools in the constituency. He said that many programmes are being organised for the benefit of the students.
Poet, writer and Rajya Sabha member Koduri Vishwavijayendra Prasad, who was also present on the occasion, said that teachers need to instill confidence in the government education system. He said that students should be taught such a culture and traditions.
He said that schools in Delhi have been attracting an increasing number of students and if efforts are made by one all, the government schools in the state would attract more students. He said that it is the responsibility of the teachers to mould students as good citizens.
Member of Parliament from Nalgonda Kundur Raghuveer said that the government education system should be made on a par with the corporate education system.
Nakirekal MLA Vemula Veeresham said that the state government is working to bring changes in the education system of Telangana and urged the teachers to work towards strengthening the education system.
District Collector C. Narayana Reddy said that teaching methods need to change to suit the learning abilities of students.
