Senior BJP leader Konda Vishweshwar Reddy has invited TPCC President Revanth Reddy to join the BJP to defeat Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in the Telangana elections.
He said that only the BJP has the strength to defeat KCR and invited Revanth to join the BJP.
He said that, however, the BJP Joining Committee has not approached Revanth to invite him to join the BJP and that they will not reveal to the media even if they meet Revanth in future.
Speaking to the media at the BJP state office here on Saturday, Konda appealed to other Congress leaders too to join the BJP.
He said that BJP is a democratic party and so the BJP Joining Committee had appealed to suspended BRS leaders Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao to join the BJP.
Konda said the Congress is the most confused party in India. He recalled that Congress merged AP and Telangana in the past and divided united Andhra Pradesh for the sake of political gains. He said the Congress will do anything to achieve its political objectives.
He said that BJP wanted a separate Telangana state only to speed up development.
He said the Congress doesn’t have any policy or ideology but is branding BJP as ‘communal.’ He said that Rahul Gandhi had taken up Bharat Jodo Yatra but wanted to keep Kashmir separate. The Congress wants separate laws for separate religions instead of a single law for the people of India, he said.
He said that the arrest of BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha is not in the hands of the BJP and that her arrest is in the hands of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). But some Telangana BJP leaders said that Kavitha will go to jail soon, he said and added that this made people think that the BJP had prevented the ED from arresting Kavitha.
“We appeal to the ED to speed up the investigation but we don’t have the power to send her to jail as no political party can arrest anyone,” he said.
Denying reports that he is quitting the BJP, Konda made it clear that he will stick to the BJP. He said that Telangana people believe in the BJP and that it would defeat the BRS in the coming elections. “Not only me, nobody is quitting the BJP,” he said.
Konda said that current BRS leaders are anti-Telangana. KCR, who called Andhraites dacoits is now praising them for the sake of votes.
He said the BJP had never blamed the people of AP and that there is a need to make Telangana free of ‘Bad Luck.’ He said the ‘Bad Luck’ of Telangana is KCR.
