The Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM) has expressed interest in collaborating with the Andhra Pradesh Government on various infrastructure projects. A meeting was held on Thursday at the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat, where KEXIM representatives engaged with state officials to explore potential partnerships.
S. Suresh Kumar, Secretary of the Infrastructure and Investment Department, briefed the Korean delegation on ongoing projects in the state. The discussions primarily focused on reviewing the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) activities in Andhra Pradesh and exploring future collaborations, particularly in the maritime sector.
KEXIM showed interest in initiatives such as shipbuilding, ship repair, port development, green ports, smart ports, logistics, and cluster development. Both sides reviewed the current status and future potential of Andhra Pradesh’s maritime industry, with plans for further detailed studies to strengthen cooperation.
The meeting also addressed strategies to attract private investment to the state, with discussions on potential incentives to facilitate such investments. KEXIM extended an invitation to the Andhra Pradesh government to participate in the upcoming EDCF Workshop Programme, which will showcase Korea’s expertise in these critical sectors.
Present at the meeting were K. Dinesh Kumar, CEO of the Real Time Governance Society, Praveen Aditya, CEO of the AP Maritime Board, Kim Chang-nyun, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai, Choi Jeong-Hoon, Director General of the EDCF Operations Department, and other Korean representatives.
