KRU INTER-COLLEGIATE VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

PB Siddhartha, Vikas, Vijaya, Loyola Colleges in league stage

Hosts PB Siddhartha Arts and Science College, Vijayawada, Vikas College of Physical Education, Nunna, Vijaya College of Physical Education, Nunna, and Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada, entered the league stage of the Krishna University Inter-Collegiate Men’s Volleyball Tournament (KRUIC), which began at the PB Siddhartha Arts and Science College on Friday.

As many as 14 colleges are participating in the two-day knockout-cum-league tournament. PB Siddhartha College Principal Dr Meka Ramesh formally inaugurated the tournament and introduced the players. On the first day, all knockout matches were completed and on the second day, the league matches would be conducted.

Tournament organising secretary A Chinababu said that the knockout matches were conducted with the best of three and the league matches would be conducted with the best of fives. After the completion of the tournament, the Krishna University team will be selected based on the players’ performances, he said. Krishna District Volleyball Association secretary D Dayakara Rao and physical directors of various colleges were present.
